Most recently, he has been board certified and recognized as a Diplomate by the American Board of Dental Sleep Medicine and by the American Academy of Sleep Medicine as having demonstrated outstanding knowledge and skill in the area of dental sleep medicine for the treatment of snoring and sleep apnea.

Our Caring Team
Gene Sherman, DDS 
A graduate of Northwestern University Dental School, Dr. Sherman has been involved in the Algonquin area both personally and professionally for over 25 years. Dr. Sherman is personally committed to providing his patients with the best dentistry available and toward that end has studied with some of the most renowned dentists in the nation including those at the LD Pankey Institute and the Dawson Center for Advanced Dental Study. In addition, he attends a number of continuing education courses each year. 
Kim - Registered Dental Hygienist
"My primary focus is my patient's dental health in relation to their overall general health. The two go hand-in-hand." says Kim. Joining our team in 2005, Kim has contributed professionalism and skills from her years of experience in the dental field.  She continues to attend Continuing Education classes and is certified in Local Anesthesia. Her attention to detail, her calm demeanor, and her gentle touch are greatly appreciated by patients.
Larisa - Dental Assistant
Larisa is Dr. Sherman's primary Chair-side Assistant and has been in the dental field since 1999. Having worked with Dr. Sherman since 2003, she has a gentle touch and a great knowledge of patient needs. Her concern is your comfort and well-being while Dr. Sherman cares for your teeth. Larisa is well educated and practiced in all dental procedures and furthers her knowledge through seminars and classes. She is certified in Preventive Sealants and Coronal Polishing. 
Christine - Appointment Coordinator/Certified Dental Assistant
Christine, the newest member of our team, comes to us from Nevada. She obtained her CDA (Certified Dental Assistant) from Truckee Community College of Nevada and continues her education to ensure your receive the best and most current care in all the newest dental techniques and philosophies. Christine is committed to providing our patients with the utmost quality of care and personalized attention both at both at the front desk and chair-side.
Stevie - Office Manager and Dental Sleep Coordinator
A Crystal Lake native, she has been working in the field of dentistry since 2007. While studying in Phoenix, Arizona, she received her certificate of completion for Dental Assisting. Stevie enjoys keeping her knowledge in dentistry and dental sleep medicine up-to-date and is always eager to learn more. She will help you with the care both chair-side and at the front desk. Stevie’s main objective is to maintain your comfort and satisfaction while you visit our office.
Our office has easily accessible parking and is situated in beautiful natural surroundings that can be enjoyed from each of our patient care rooms. 
Meet Becky Cleghorn
Becky is our Sleep Care Consultant and acts as a liaison between our growing Dental Sleep Medicine practice and the area doctors who refer CPAP intolerant sleep apnea sufferers to us for oral appliance therapy. She comes from a well-rounded background in dentistry, including administration, chairside, laboratory and marketing work. She is dedicated to raising public awareness about the implications of apnea and the potential oral appliance therapy holds to help OSA sufferers reclaim restful, refreshing sleep. 

In her private life, Becky is an accomplished artist who shares her life with her husband and two children. An advocate of lifelong learning, she continues to attend courses to help ensure that the information and education she shares is up to date and relevant.
